March 23-28, 2009. My first (and certainly not last) REI Adventures trip from Las Vegas to Death Valley National Park on the CA/NV border. My flight out of Newark was delayed 1.5 hours due to high winds in Vegas, but eventually I made it, and my good buddy Sylva met me at the airport. We got some Mexican food and called it a night. I met the group the next morning at the Alexis Park Hotel downtown.

 

I was battling a head cold all week, but managed to have a great time nonetheless (though I did lose my taste for beer (!) and so kept to water mostly for the nightly happy hours). Here are my photos. Thanks to Margaret for sending the group shot. Thanks to Lynn for taking it! Enjoy!
